Social 2.0 Burnout

I”ve not blogged for a while, which is clearly not cool, and I think I know why… Social network overload. Facebook, Twitter, Digg, even my Netvibes page is trying to make me ”exchange and share” and quite frankly I think I might have had enough. Its not that I don”t want to communicate with the world, or else I wouldn”t be writing this post, but there are only so many internet-based mediums I really need to communicate through.

The recent explosion of this trend has to stop, or at least be tamed. Services like friendfeed provide an interesting consolidation approach to make it easier for people to view and read one’’s various rantings, but I feel that the very fact this sort of service is needed highlights the problem. Too many places in which to share and communicate.

So here I am putting my foot down. I”m going to blog, and thats it. I may import the blog posts via RSS into a couple of other places; facebook for one, but thats it. Everything is going into Wordpress.

Oh, by the way, I love open source webware.
